A photoshoot at a beautiful boutique hotel that requires evening gowns, velvet, and elbow-length gloves? Yes, please!
My shoot with Joe was the result of a last-minute cancellation by another model (and I'm so glad she couldn't make it). I had two days to pull together a wardrobe, plan my own hair and makeup, and scope out the location: the Menger hotel. I mean, just look at this victorian lobby!
I had two dresses for this shoot.
1. The gold evening gown by Jim Hjelm Occasions (Style 510) that was rescued from an alterations shop. I'm not sure if this particular style is still available retail, but Nordstrom does carry the line.
2. The black velvet evening gown by Dave & Johnny that I picked up at a Goodwill ages ago that has been my go-to New Years Eve dress (that you can kind of see in this photo below).

I didn't see any on either website that really looked like mine, but I have included some links at the end of this post to dresses of similar fabrics, silhouettes, and/or colors.
Some of my favorite images from our shoot are below.
