UT Austin Blue Door at Battle Hall
Yes, that blue door. The entrance to Battle Hall – which houses the Architecture Library – is indeed a real door (which means people will walk in and out of it during your photo shoot), and it is incredibly picturesque.
If you don’t like an audience during your photoshoot though, don’t start here! It’s right off the main mall so between classes you’ll be the entertainment for the hundreds of students crossing in front of the UT Tower.

Littlefield Fountain
A favorite at graduation time for overflowing champagne bottles and cap tosses, the Littlefield Fountain at the base of the South Mall is available for photos year-round so don’t wait until you’ll have to stand in line for a photoshoot here in the Spring or before home football games. The Littlefield Fountain is a World War I memorial monument designed by Italian sculptor P. Coppini, and resembles the prow of a ship flanked by sea horses and bearing the Spirit of Indepedence.
For designer Toria Espinoza, the photo location was perfect for her mermaid-inspired formal gown for her 2016 senior collection (even without water in the fountain at the time).

Baird-Maxwell Courtyard
It’s fitting that several popular photo opp spots on campus belong to the School of Architecture’s side of the West Mall.
The Baird-Maxwell Courtyard is a short walk around the larger building that boaasts the famous blue doors, tucked across a walkway and a bike rack from the hidden Post Office. It features some beautiful flowering trees, arched glass doors, and a handsome flagstone path. During class hours, you’ll finds students camped out on one of the few benches that line the small greenspace.

Main Building / Behind the UT Tower
There is a small courtyard behind the Main Building that faces toward Painter Hall and Gearing Hall. If you’re camera shy, this might be a great spot to start! The lighting can be gorgeous and soft with three marble walls to bounce off and there are timeless stone benches and an iron gateway to use as props while you get more comfortable with the camera.
