“A model is a chamelon.”
~ Coco Rocha
In some ways, having studied acting or dancing makes it easier to transition to modeling. But modeling is an art form that stands on its own and requires its own practice and perfection.
And yet. At nearly every photoshoot I have booked, at least one person (and many times more!) will inevitably ask “Were you a dancer?” like it’s something from another life, another time.
While high school dance is more than a decade removed from my daily life, vestiges of hours of practice and performances still manifest: in hand movements, in posture, in walks, in head angles.
Check out my pictures below! Would you think I was a model who studied dance if you saw these poses at a photoshoot?
