Confession time – I’m hooked on Italy. There are so many reasons Italy has stolen my heart, but here are 5 reasons you need to visit Italy at least once.

The food is so fresh and delicious – you’ll never have better pasta, pizza or gelato

Italian dining, lunch or dinner, is an experience! Take your time, order a glass of house wine or a Spritz, and enjoy the patios and people-watching.

Once you’re used to the later dining schedule (dinner starts at 8 PM or later) you’ll have nothing to complain about dining in Italy. TripAdvisor is your best friend, but you really can’t go wrong strolling through the narrow and lively streets lined with cafes and restaurants and shops and stopping wherever your nose tells you.

The hardest decision you’ll have to make is which flavor gelato you’ll want because there are so many great ones!

And remember: eat your pizza with a fork! No joke.

Visiting Italy is very affordable

You can travel on a budget, but there’s really no need to scrimp in Italy.

We stay in beautiful Airbnbs and VRBOs in the most desirable locations in Rome, Florence, Turin, Venice, and Verona. We eat good food, have daily gelato and wine stops, and enjoy all the sights without hesitation because Italy is so affordable.

You can travel from one side of the country to the other via train so easily.

An evening in Pisa? Sure! A day trip from Florence to Bologna? I’m in! You can get anywhere by train pretty inexpensively whenever you’re craving a change of scenery.

Everything from the architecture to the art is beautiful

Italy is home to some of the most beautiful art in the world. From the Uffizi Gallery to the Accademia Gallery in Florence, from the Galleria dell’Accademia and Basilica di San Marco in Venice to Rome’s Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel – you can’t help but fall head over heels.

Italy has such a rich culture and history. With so many museums, galleries, plazas, churches, palaces, parks, and more you’ll never run out of places and spaces to enjoy and experience. Even a slow day can have an unforgettable charm if you wander the cobblestone streets.
